Welcome to My Blog!
Welcome to the Games People Play at Work! This blog was waiting to happen for quite some time now. It started out as a hobby where I recorded hundreds and hundreds of behaviors I witnessed in the workplace. The list kept growing and growing and growing so I thought, "Why don't I turn this into something useful!"
So here we are. The whole point of this blog is to identify behaviors that can interfere with your morale, or if you are a leader, the morale of your team and provide you with practical tools or strategies that can help you navigate the minefield at your place of work.
Sometimes you may experience the raw, in-your-face emotions of your co-workers. At other times, the experience may be so subtle that you may stand back and ask yourself, "What really happened just now?" The behavior you experienced was neatly wrapped and tied beautifully with a ribbon but there was a surprise underneath all the wrapping...tick tock, tick tock...
We will explore many many behaviors that help you to identify the Games People Play at Work like the employee who behaves as if she is indispensable, or the superstar who tries to outshine his peers. So stay tuned...
Now let me introduce myself, I am Yvette Bethel, CEO of Organizational Soul, a consulting firm that provides HR, Coaching and Training services to clients in North America, The Bahamas and Caribbean. I am very excited about this blog and the many opportunities to share and learn. I look forward to building it, together, with you!
